Mean Girls”

How to deal with gossip, bullying, and other drama in a girl's world.  Learn effective communication skills and how to cope with relationships in a healthy way.

“Facial Finishes

Learn about different skin types/conditions and gain product knowledge for appropriate skin care.  Develop an understanding of make-up types and brands/colors that work best for you.  Learn not only the "tools of the trade" (basic implements) but also the "tricks of the trade" (application techniques) as well.

How do guys think?  What impresses them or not?  Learn straight from a guy how to value yourself in relationships and deal with peer pressure in areas such as drinking, drugs and teen sex.

“Bend it Shape It” Yoga for Girls

Learn how yoga can help you deal with stress and help keep you fit.  Introduction to the origination and practice of yoga.  Learn and practice basic yoga poses and breathing techniques you can use throughout life.  [Note:  This session includes physical activity so comfortable clothes are required]

“Self Defense - What Every Girl Should Know” 

Every girl needs to know how to stay safe and protect herself, if necessary.  In this workshop, you’ll learn how to set verbal boundaries and physically fight back if you need to.  Very interactive; everyone will practice multiple types of strikes and escape methods.   [Note:  This session includes physical activity so comfortable clothes and shoes are required.  Waiver form signed by parent or guardian required.]

“What's on the Menu?”

Ever wonder if some diets are really safe?  Or how you can excel at sports?  Learn how to eat healthy at home and on the go, including how to order at restaurants.  Get the lowdown on dieting, strength training, eating disorders and more.

“Wanna Dance?”

Dancers are not measured by their experience or technique level. A dancer is anyone that gets joy out of moving their body to their favorite song or rhythm. We are all dancers deep down inside! Come explore your inner dancer with this exciting jazz-funk class.  The class includes a warm-up and stretch, across the floor movements, and dance choreography. Try original dance styles that will build your confidence, cardio health, flexibility, strength and coordination. [Note:  This session includes physical activity so comfortable clothes required. If you have ballet or jazz shoes bring them. However dance shoes are not required, just make sure you have socks and tennis shoes.]

Workshop Leader:  Julie Collins,  has over 20 years of dance experience, including teaching, performing, and choreography, in ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, and tap dance.


“Exploring the Great Outdoors - Not Just for Guys!”

Outdoor sports and activities aren’t just for guys!  Join us for a very interactive, hands-on workshop to learn how you can have fun and stay fit for a lifetime using the great outdoors.  Dare to explore activities you never thought about trying before.  Learn how you can protect our environment while you’re out there and find out about great outdoor career and volunteer opportunities.  Meet Emma, Leah Waarvik’s service dog, and learn how you can volunteer to train with other Search and Rescue dogs.   [Note:  This session will be held outdoors (weather permitting) and includes physical activity, so warm, comfortable clothes and shoes are a required].
